Description
Bromazolane (XLI-268) is a triazolobenzodiazepine (TBZD) first synthesized in 1976. It is a bromo analogue of alprazolam rather than a chloro analogue, and has sedative and anxiolytic effects similar to alprazolam and other benzodiazepines. Bromozolam is a non-subtype selective agonist at the benzodiazepine site of the GABA A receptor, with a binding affinity of 2.81 nM for the α 1 subtype and 0.69 nM for the α 2 subtype, with the “common” dose range for bromozolam users reported to be 1 to 2 mg, suggesting that its potency is similar to that of alprazolam.
